10 Days of Me: 7 Wants

Saturday, 14 February 2015

This prompt is a slightly more difficult one, as it can be read in several ways, I could simply list seven material objects that I would like, and that would fulfil the brief. However I myself read this more as a 'Seven things that I want from life' brief, so that's what I am going to be talking about!

  1. Get Married: This one is an obvious one, but every little girl dreams of a white wedding, and I am no different. I desperately want to get married in my village church, as that's where I was christened, and also where a lot of my family are buried, and I have always wanted a horse drawn carriage, but I guess we'll have to see how it goes!
  2. Have Children: Again an obvious one. I myself would like to have one girl and one boy, I want to have the girl first though! I already have names picked out and everything (I know that may be slightly sad), and I really want to start having children before I reach 30.
  3. The Dream House: I would really, REALLY like to build my own house one day, with a little bit of land, and enough room for everything.
  4. Road Trip Across America: I have been lucky enough to visit California, but I would love to do a road trip across America, starting in New York, and then ending up back in California, which is actually probably my favourite place in the world!
  5. Work on Doctor Who: Now I am completing a make up course I am even closer to making this a reality, but ever since I started watching Doctor Who (during Tennant's time as the doctor) I have wanted to work on that show. Doing the SFX makeup would be a dream come true, and it's not even an unrealistic goal for me anymore!
  6. Own/Ride Horses: I have always been obsessed with horses, from when I was young and had riding lessons, and I used to read Pony magazine and dream of having a horse of my own. One day I would love to make this dream a reality.
  7. Write a Book: This one is something I have always wanted to do, but I'm not entirely sure what I would want the book to be about. When I was younger (and obsessed with horses) I used to write short strories about me and my imaginary horses (how cool am I?), but I definitely think it would be more non fiction.
Let me know in the comments what your life goals are, I love reading your comments!

10 Days of Me: 8 Fears

Thursday, 12 February 2015

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing OK. I am seriously tired this week as I am commuting up to London every day for my makeup course. Not that I can complain, because I am absolutely loving it, however I'm here to talk about my fears with you all...
  1. Spiders: I think everyone is scared of spiders, right? I can deal with tiny money spiders, but anything with long, or thick legs I hate... Tim isn't much better with spiders, but since we've been living together he has manned up and now grabs them for me.
  2. The Dark: Yes I am afraid of the dark, and I have been since I was little. I used to switch my bedroom light of and run and jump into bed so the monsters couldn't grab me from under my bed, the monsters that only came out in the dark. We also used to sleep with the landing light on, up until I was a teenager actually, I just got used to it. I remember the first time I slept with a light off I was terrified... I'm much better now obviously, but I still don't like going out in the dark, or walking around the flat in the dark, it just makes me anxious.
  3. The Sea: More specifically swimming in the sea, I'll happily paddle at the edge of the sea, and walk into the sea, but I cannot swim in the sea where I cannot touch the ground with my feet. Up until uni I had never been in the sea further than up to my hip, but one day I braved it and walked right out until it was up to my neck, it was very liberating, and terrifying at the same time.
  4. Having no Money: This is one of my biggest fears, having spent three years struggling through university and rarely having enough money, and needing support from my family... I hated that time, and I used to feel physically sick every time I checked my bank balance, and I still feel that way today, despite being in a good situation financially at the moment.
  5. Evil Spirits: I know most people think ghosts don't exist, but I do, and I am terrified of coming across an 'evil spirit'. The horror films that I find the scariest are anything to do with ghosts, I don't know what it is about them but the idea of coming across a ghost scares me more than the idea of coming across a serial killer...
  6. Never having children: This one really terrifies me, there is a possibility that I may find it difficult to conceive a child, and I am so scared that it will be difficult for me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see with that one.
  7. Losing my loved ones: I know that death is inevitable but I am terrified of losing any of my loved ones, from my pets, to my parents, I don't know what I would do without every single one of them.
  8. Never reaching my goals: I have various life and career goals that I am desperate to meet, and one of my biggest fears is that I won't realise any of these goals, such as getting married, having children, working in TV/Film etc. I think everyone has a fear like this, but if I stop and think about it, I get really emotional...
So there we have it all, eight of my fears, I wonder if you feel like you know me a little better now?

Try a Tutorial Tuesday: Valentines Makeup Looks

Tuesday, 10 February 2015

I have to apologise... I currently don't have time to try out a tutorial for you guys because my course started this week, and I'm still getting used to the schedule. I did however, have time to trawl the web and find some of my favourite Valentines Makeup Looks to share with you all!

Who doesn't love Zoella, her V-day Makeup features a bold red lip (which you can never go wrong with in my eyes).

This beautiful smokey brown look with winged liner is from Shonagh Scott, who I had never heard of before, but will be looking into again, I'm sure!

I love this look from MakeupbyAmarie, I have never been daring enough to wear a pink lipstick like that, but I am considering it!

This beautiful pink look by Mayratouchofglam is perfect for a Valentines date night, don't you think?

Let me know in the comments which look your favourite is!

10 Days of Me: Nine Loves

Monday, 9 February 2015

Excuse me for reusing the above photo collage, but I think nothing can demonstrate one of my greatest loves better than these photos... and with that I'll launch straight into it...

If you've ever been out anywhere with me, and we have come across a dog, then you will know that I cannot help but let out a 'Squee' and run towards said dog for lots of cuddles and kisses. In fact Tim took me to a dog show last summer, and I spent the whole time harassing dog owners with beautiful dogs, and having lots of cuddles (dog owners secretly love people giving their dog attention). I love dogs so much that if I ever have the land/money I have a massive long list of different breeds that I want to own. Top of my list are a Pomeranian, a Dachshund, and a Husky. Of course I already have a beautiful Jack Russell who is my current life companion, and she is beautiful, and good, and I love her more than anything in the world, even Tim (but shhhhhhh don't tell him that!)

Seeing as my love of dogs is so amazingly strong, I thought I share with you my nine favourite breeds! OMG it was so hard to narrow it down to only NINE, and I would also like to point out they are in no particular order!

  1. Jack Russell (obviously)
  2. Pomeranian
  3. Dachshund
  4. Husky
  5. Pug
  6. Miniature Poodle
  7. Border Collie
  8. Italian Greyhound
  9. Shiba Inu
Let me know in the comments what your favourite breed is!

Sum Up Sunday #11

Sunday, 8 February 2015

This week I turned 23... *sigh* Every birthday since I have turned twenty becomes a day of massive cringing whenever someone mentions my age, because I hate growing older. Now don't get me wrong, I can appreciate that I am still rather young, however being the eldest of my generation in my family, whenever I gain another year I feel so old...

My birthday was spent in bed, on my laptop, playing games, and cuddling with my boyfriend, and to be honest there is no better way to spend a birthday.

Other than that, this week my life has been spent coughing, sneezing, and trying to make my temperature relatively normal. Yes, I have had a serious cough/cold/flu/plague this week. I think I am finally coming towards the end of it now, which is good new seeing as I have a major week next week... I hope that none of you have suffered as bad as I have this week!

Quite a short one this week seeing as I have been ill, next week will be full of tales of all I have learnt at Makeup school! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!

This Week I'm...

Reading: The Complete Makeup Artist by Penny Delamar (in preparation for next week)
Listening To: I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At The Disco
Playing: Star Stable (still not bored of it)
Feeling: Don't know if I'm elated or gassy, but I'm somewhere in that zone!
Looking Forward To: Living my new life as of next week!

24 Before 24...

Saturday, 7 February 2015

I can't believe that the time has come once again for me to write my list of goals for the year, last year I made a much better attempt at these goals than I did the year before, but I feel as though there is still great room for improvement. This year I aim to complete at least HALF of these goals, to we'll see (holds breath)...

  1. Get halfway to my goal weight by Tim's Birthday: Tim's birthday is in August so it will be over half way through the year, and even if I were to lose 1 Ib a week, this would still be achievable.
  2. Become a Qualified Make Up Artist: It may be slightly cheating to make this goal now as I enrolled onto my course a couple of weeks ago, but it starts next week and I am so nervous/excited to get going, and all I have to do now is pass...
  3. Finally get my career on track: This goal is related to the above one, but it more about me actually putting my skills into practice and building a name for myself. My goal is to have done at least one job in Film or TV by next year.
  4. Become a 'Yes' person: Take any (within reason) opportunity that comes my way that I am interested in, because life is too short not to take a chance.
  5. Beat my time on the Race for Life 5k: Last year I finally ran the Race For Life, and my time was about 47 minutes, this year I want to try harder and I am aiming for the 40-45 minute mark.
  6. Read 25 books: I've already mentioned this here, but if you would like to join me then you can add me on Goodreads.
  7. Reboot my Youtube Channel: As I am going to be very busy in the next month with learning how to be a MUA I decided that something had to give, so I have put my Youtube Channel on hold for a little while. I aim to reboot this in March/April time when things have settled down, especially as I will have an amazing new camera to use very soon!
  8. Visit Three New Places in the UK: Last year my goal was to travel abroad, and I didn't even get close, so this year I am aiming lower, places on my list are currently Brighton and Ireland!
  9. Complete all the Games I own before buying new ones: A reappearance from last year, with an added twist. I am terrible at buying a tonne of video games and then never playing them/finishing them. So Tim and I have invented a new rule in our household, you are not allowed to buy a new video game, until you have completed one. So far I am living by it, but I'm not sure how long it will last.
  10. Buy a house: This one is a MASSIVE long shot, but so was Moving Out when I wrote my list last year, but then that happened! Tim and I have been looking to buy, so I'm hoping by the end of the year I'll have my own home!
  11. Become Crafty: I'm always immensely jealous when I see crafty things on Pinterest, wondering why I can't make things like that, and the answer is, I simply have never tried.
  12. Exercise at least TWICE a week: You may recall that I mentioned I was doing a Blogilates calender for January, and I actually really enjoyed that. I know if I make my goal to exercise every day then it won't happen, so at least this way there is a slightly bigger chance, right?
  13. Go Sober: This one is a big one for me, and one that a lot of my family won't believe that I will be doing. Last week I got really wasted when I went to see my sister at uni, and I have honestly never felt so bad from drinking, not even when I was in Uni. Then when I thought about it, I realised that alcohol isn't that great anyway, so I am giving it up!
  14. Take up a Sport: I keep meaning to check out local ladies sports groups, but I just keep on forgetting and I really don't have an excuse to be honest!
  15. Do something for the Make a Wish Foundation: The Make a Wish foundation is my favourite charity, and I have always wanted to raise money for them, I'm not quite sure what I will do yet, but it might be something very exciting!
  16. Keep Dating: By this I mean keep dating my boyfriend! I read online somewhere recently how important it is to carry on dating the person that you are in a long term relationship with, to keep the relationship fun and exciting, and I couldn't agree more.
  17. Write something: When I was younger I used to constantly write short stories, and I must admit I have had a lot of ideas for scripts recently that I should really put to paper...
  18. Make a Short Horror Film: I guess this ties in with the above, but we all know I love horror, and I have been itching to make a short film ever since I left uni, I just may have to employ Tish's uni mates for assistance.
  19. Be more Social: I guess this one is a little more open, but since seeing how well my sister gets on with her flatmates, I miss having a close group of friends that I get to see often, I am am working on that.
  20. Create an app: This one relies on Tim heavily seeing as he is the software developer, but I have a TONNE of ideas for apps that I would love to use, and I want to bring one to life.
  21. Learn Spanish: I have been attempting to learn Spanish again for a LONG, long time, but I really want to take it seriously...
  22. Start a Scrapbook/photo album: I love seeing all my photos online, but it would be nice to have something physical to show my children in the future.
  23. Spend more time with Maizey: As soon as Tim and I have a garden we intend to have Maizey live with us, this year I want to spend some more time with her. Taking her to the vets and getting her fixed up are my priority, and then taking her for proper long country walks is next! Ultimately I want to take her to agility classes and get her socialised.
  24. Blog as often as I can: Recently this blog has really become something to me... I mean it's always meant a lot to me, but recently in particular I feel as though I have been making headway with it, and I want to continue that for another year.
That's a lot of goals, some are easy, and others not so much, I'm pretty sure I can already pick out the ones I am going to fail at...

Let me know in the comments what your goals are for this year!
