10 Days of Me: Nine Loves

Monday, 9 February 2015

Excuse me for reusing the above photo collage, but I think nothing can demonstrate one of my greatest loves better than these photos... and with that I'll launch straight into it...

If you've ever been out anywhere with me, and we have come across a dog, then you will know that I cannot help but let out a 'Squee' and run towards said dog for lots of cuddles and kisses. In fact Tim took me to a dog show last summer, and I spent the whole time harassing dog owners with beautiful dogs, and having lots of cuddles (dog owners secretly love people giving their dog attention). I love dogs so much that if I ever have the land/money I have a massive long list of different breeds that I want to own. Top of my list are a Pomeranian, a Dachshund, and a Husky. Of course I already have a beautiful Jack Russell who is my current life companion, and she is beautiful, and good, and I love her more than anything in the world, even Tim (but shhhhhhh don't tell him that!)

Seeing as my love of dogs is so amazingly strong, I thought I share with you my nine favourite breeds! OMG it was so hard to narrow it down to only NINE, and I would also like to point out they are in no particular order!

  1. Jack Russell (obviously)
  2. Pomeranian
  3. Dachshund
  4. Husky
  5. Pug
  6. Miniature Poodle
  7. Border Collie
  8. Italian Greyhound
  9. Shiba Inu
Let me know in the comments what your favourite breed is!

A-Z Of Me: D is for Dog Lover...

Sunday, 16 November 2014

I've mentioned many a time on this blog that I absolutely love dogs, in fact one day I want to own a big house with a portion of land so I can have a whole pack of dogs of all different shapes and sizes. There is no particular breed that I love most either, of course I have my favourites, but all in all I will cuddle any dog.

Currently I have a beautiful Jack Russell called Maizey, who currently lives with my mum, due to us not having a garden. She is about 6 years old, and is the love of my life.

I remember when I went to get her like it was yesterday... My mum had promised me that I could have a dog for Christmas (I was 16 at the time), and I was obsessed with the idea of getting a teacup yorkshire terrier.

I mean, who wouldn't want to cuddle this little cutie, right? My mum on the other hand, wasn't so keen on me getting a Teacup Yorkie, mainly because they were expensive. She saw an advert for some Jack Russell puppies, and arranged for us to go and take a look at them, knowing full well that I would not be able to resist a cute little puppy! Honestly I hadn't ever thought about having a Jack Russell, they weren't as cute to me as the tiny teacup doggies.

So off we went to Maizeland Farm, a short drive away from where we lived. The lady at the farm directed us to a stable where the puppies were and I immediately fell in love with them all. The lady had left the stable door open, and I remember asking her if that was OK? Her response was, 'the puppies won't go near the open door, they are too shy, they'll stick close to their mummy'. I crouched down and was looking at all the cute puppies and I turn around, and there was Maizey, at the open door, looking like she was about to jump out. It was at that moment, that I knew she was the dog for me, I scooped her up, and we took her away. Ever since then we have been cuddle buddies.

I can't wait until Tim and I get our own place with a garden, so that I can bring my Maizey-moo to live with me... Other than my beautiful Maizey, I am dreaming of owning a few other little cuties, so I thought I would compile a list of breeds that I am currently obsessed with.

From top left to bottom right: Dachshund, Toy Pomeranian, Toy Poodle, Pomsky, Border Collie, Pug.

If I honestly had to say what was at the top of my list, it would have to be a toy pomeranian! They just look like fluffy little clouds...

Let me know in the comments what your favourite breed of dog is, I love to read your comments.

#BEDM 6: Passion Projects: What I Would Love to Make Money From...

Tuesday, 6 May 2014

When I first saw today's prompt, I panicked about what I was going to write about. I still haven't really figured out what I want to do with my life, and as such I tend to panic when it comes to writing about it. However I have promised myself that I won't panic, and instead I'm going to focus on talking about the things that I love...

1) Dogs

I have always grown up around dogs, and if there is anything I love most, it has to be having a cuddle with a cute doggy! The dog pictured above is my beautiful Jack Russell, Maizey. I got her for Christmas one year, and I had to absolutely beg my mum to let me have her! Since moving in with Tim I don't get to see her that often any more, but when I do, LOTS of cuddles are involved.

It's not just my own dogs that I love, it's ALL dogs... I went to a dog show the other week, and I couldn't help but walk up to people and have cuddles with their dogs! Thankfully most people at those events are very understanding, and are very keen to show off their pooches, even better for me!

Part of me wishes I had done a course on Animal behaviour or dog grooming, as I know that I would be running out of my front door every morning if it meant that I could spend all day with dogs!

2) Baking

When I'm stressed, I like nothing more than to pull out my bakery book and make a sweet treat for me and my friends! I'm obsesses with TV shows like the Great British Bake-Off, and Cake Boss. I'd love to have my own bakery selling all my favourite sweet treats, and trust me I have thought about...

I know baking is a tough business, what with being such a popular profession now, but something in me would absolutely love to have a store full of colourful sweets!

3) Youtube

Ever since watching Charlieissocoollike for the first time when I was a teenager, I have loved making Youtube videos. I've created and closed down more Youtube channels than most people, and I've written and thrown away more video ideas than I can even count!

I revived my Youtube channel back in October, and posted fairly regularly for a good while. I haven't managed to get a post up for a few months, due to having moved in with Tim... However I intend to remedy that as soon as I can!

If you want to check what I have got so far then please check out my channel here

If I could just quit my job, and make Youtube videos, then trust me, I totally would...

So there you have it! There are a few things that I wish I could make money doing... You never know, I might get there one day, but for now, I'm stuck in a stuffy office, doing an OK job.

If you are looking for a new job then City Calling could be the website for you! It's a new job search website, and you can check out their Jobs board here.

Let me know in the comments what your dream job is!

Berkshire Bloggers do #SBBC: Things I Love...

Monday, 16 September 2013

There are a million things that I love, most of them are food based, but we won't go into that too much! I think the easiest way for me to tackle this is to make a list. I'm going to limit it to my top 5 favourite things in the whole wide world! So in no particular order, here are a few things that make me happy.

1: Dogs.
 My beautiful Maizey!

My Nan's puppy, Pippa.

Little Poodle puppy that I got to cuddle yesterday!

I grew up around dogs, and as such I have always loved them. Nothing makes me smile more than getting to have a cuddle with a dog. No matter what breed, or size, I love them ALL! I was bought a puppy when I was only 1 year old, and she was the best dog ever. She reached the ripe old age of 14 before we sadly had to have her put down. That never deterred me from wanting another dog. My mum got a border collie cross called Annie, for her birthday from my Nan, and she is the dopiest, soppiest thing you would ever meet. Unless she see's a clown... then she will rip it's throat out (no lie). I begged mum to let me have my own dog, I desperately wanted (and still do want) a teacup yorkshire terrier. We were struggling to find any yorkie puppies around our area, and then mum spotted an advert for Jack Russell puppies. She knew as soon as I saw them that I wouldn't be able to resist. So that night I left that farm with my little baby Maizey! She's now four years old and I'm desperate for her to have little puppies of her own! I literally cannot contain myself when I am around dogs, I went to a family fun day when I visited my cousin in Wakefield, and there was a fun dog show, and I almost had a heart attack at all the cute little doggies. I swear if I ever am lucky enough to own a big house with a bit of land, that I will own ALL the dogs!

2. Baking:

Mary Berry is my IDOL! I don't know what it is about baking, but it makes me feel really happy. I just love making (and eating) sweet treats. I find that a cake is all the more delicious when you've made it yourself, from scratch. I ALWAYS make my own pastry when I make a tart, and nothing makes me prouder than when I cut a slice and flip it, to find NO soggy bottom! I am slowly getting back into baking, and I have a little bit of a plan to start up a small business, but we'll see on that front.

3. Youtube:

I've talked about my obsession with Youtube so many times on this blog. I've been a loyal watcher of many Youtubers since their humble beginnings. I aspire to have my own channel with 1000 followers. I have started making Gameplay videos much like Pewdiepie, and you can check those out here. I am also working on videos for my main channel, which will focus on short films and vlogs. So watch this space!

4. Chart Music:

I tend to get a lot of stick for my taste in music, but it really doesn't bother me. I like a song with a good tune, with decent lyrics that I can sing along and dance to. It doesn't mean that I dislike other kinds of music, I'll happily listen to rock music, or heavy metal. I enjoy music in general. It just so happens to be that my favourite music is the stuff that is in the charts.

5. Horror Films:

My love of horror films has always been present. When I was about 10 years old, my dad rented the original Nightmare on Elm Street, and I watched it about 15 times before we took it back. In fact I'm pretty sure he extended the rental so I could watch it more. That makes me sound like a really creepy child right? It wasn't really until I was in sixthform, studying Media, and we researched Slasher movies for our coursework, that I really unlocked my love of horror. Since then I have attended a few horror film festivals whilst at university, and my love of horror continues to grow. Now I know a lot of you are probably sat there thinking I am a total weirdo. I don't know what it is about horror. I love the feeling of being scared, or grossed out. I've never seen a film that I literally couldn't watch because it was too gory. I think what I love the most about horror is that it really pushes the boundaries of what is actually SHOWN on film. I hope that some of you will agree, and all I will say is that I think everyone should give horror a go. If there is one thing I have learned from attending the festivals, it's that there is a horror for everyone. Comic, thought-provoking, or just down right scary, there's a lot off cool stuff out there, just dig a little deeper than mainstream horror, and you might find a gem, like I have.

So there you have it, five things that I love, and that make me who I am! Sorry that this post turned out MEGA long, and I'm hoping some of you have stayed until the end. Let me know what you think on my views in the comments, I love to hear from you!
