What I Got for Christmas!

Tuesday, 31 December 2013

Since everyone else has been posting these all over the internet, I thought it was about time that I jumped on the bandwagon. So here is what I got this year for Christmas!

The first gift I got was from the lovely Kerrie from Pish, Posh and Polish. She got me this wonderful Benefit palette! I have used it once already and I can already see it becoming part of my daily makeup routine, so thanks Kerrie!

My sister got me this super cute stuffed Pascal, with a little santa hat, and bowtie! How cute is he? Tangled is one of my favourite new disney films, and Pascal is super sweet and funny!

She also got me some more Yankee Wax Tarts! I have so many of these that I have to start using. My main problem is I only have one burner. When I move out I plan to buy some more and have a different fragrance in every room! I also got two nail polishes from her, but I couldn't find them to photograph!

Mum got me this birthstone bracelet from Avon, and i've worn it pretty much every day since Christmas, it goes with everything!

My boyfriend got me this Doctor Who themed pendant, which has some circular Galifreyan inspired pattern, and it's in my favourite colour, what's not to like?

Of course I had to get some perfume for Christmas, and this year it seems that my family went down the Celebrity perfume route! Justin Beiber's Someday is one of my favourite perfumes. Don't get me wrong though, I don't like Justin Beiber, it's just that he happened to put his name to a really lovely perfume! My nan got me this bottle, and I was so glad as I actually ran out of it a few weeks ago. My mum also got me a perfume, she opted for the JLS perfume 'Kiss'. This one is very different to what I would normally wear, it's quite a musky scent, but I really enjoy wearing it, and we all know how much I love JLS!

My boyfriend actually took note of my Christmas Wishlist post and bought me this nerdy card game that I asked for! We have only played it once so far, but it's actually pretty fun!

My nan got me this owl throw and a pair of lovely thick owl socks! I actually got 70% less owl gifts than I got last year, but a few still managed to creep in!

My mum got me this lovely bright burnt orange fox t-shirt, with some black glitter on it! I love foxes, I think they are so cute, and I can't wait to wear this!

My nan got me this owl jumper dress thingy from Primark with a hood. It's really fluffy and has a nice big pocket on the front of it. I'm not really sure how to describe what it is, but it looks really cozy and I'm going to be cuddling up in it tonight watching the TV with my boyfriend!

My nan got me this super awesome earmuffs, that are actually headphones! They have this super cute owl design on the sides, and the sound quality is really good! I'm going to be using these all the time, she also got my sister a similar pair with a penguin design, they are seriously awesome!

I saved the best gift until last, and that is this beautiful silver jewellery box that my boyfriend got me! It's even engraved with my name. It's something that I really didn't expect from him and I really love it! This is going to be housing all my favourite pieces of jewellery, including my Doctor Who necklace.

I also used up my Christmas money on Boxing day and got myself something that I have been yearning for since I first clapped eyes on it. A Samsung Galaxy Tab 3!

I've already downloaded a billions apps, and it's become my go to device for browsing! Especially seeing as my laptop is painfully slow at the moment, although I have my boyfriend working on that!

As well as everything pictured above I got lots of little nick nacks and lots and lots of chocolate, despite telling everyone that I didn't want any...

Let me know in the comments what you got for Christmas, I'd love to hear all about it!

Berkshire Bloggers Do #SBBC: Favourite Jewellery

Monday, 2 September 2013

I'm not a big jewellery person to be honest. I won a fair amount of it, but I have to be in the right kind of mood to be wearing it. So I thought I would show you the pieces that I wear the most.

This is my favourite bracelet of the moment. I bought it in Matalan during my graduation week, and normally if I'm wearing anything, it's this. I'm a massive fan of Tim Burton, and this bracelet really reminds me of his style. Plus it's in pretty pastel colours, which makes it both cool, and a little girly.

I bought this necklace for the same reason as above. Also because blue is my favourite colour. As soon as I saw this necklace from across the store in New Look, I gravitated towards it and knew it had to be mine! It has the same skulls as the bracelet, and I also own it in pink and white. I just couldn't resist it.

These two pieces are definitely the ones that get the most wear for me, and that's actually really unusual, because it's a gold colour, and I MUCH prefer silver. My sister bought me this necklace, and I bought the earrings from New Look. They go perfectly together because they are the same style, and they are really easy to wear. Also I am totally obsessed with owls... that is all.

So there we have it, a little insight to my favourite pieces of jewellery! Let me know in the comments what your favourite piece is.

Wishlist Wednesday

Wednesday, 1 May 2013

I'm starting a new feature! Every Wednesday I'm going to be doing a wishlist post, with a theme, or from a certain shop. Today I found all these pretties on the John Lewis website. As you may or may not know (I've said it a billion times already) I am moving home in TWO WEEKS! As such I have been thinking a lot about how I would want my place to be decorated if I had my own room, which when I move home, I won't have. John Lewis is a store that I've always thought has some beautiful homeware, so I went and had a gander and this is what I have come up with:

  1. Vase: As soon as I saw this vase I knew it would be perfect for me! I mean come on, it has roses on it, and it's just beautiful!
  2. Perfume Bottle: I love little trinkets like this and how cute would this look on a desk/shelf!
  3. Cake Stand: We all know I love baking, and I love how clean and elegant this cake stand looks, I can see myself using this all the time.
  4. Milk Bottles: This one is rather unusual, and that's why i love it! They look like the little glass bottles that Alice would drink the 'drink me' shrink potion from. You could also fill them with cute gems or something.
  5. Bird Tealight Holder: This is so cute. It's definitely one of my favourites out of all my picks, I can just see this hanging off of a shelf and instantly brightening up a room.
  6. Ceramic Owl: I like Owls. That is all.
  7. Ceramic Cow: Another unusual item, but again super cute! I could see this sitting in a kitchen.
  8. Heart Dish: I'd love to have this dish on my dressing table so that I could put my earrings in it! It's so simple and cute.
  9. Greenhouse: I'm not entirely sure what I would use this for, but it's pretty quirky and I'd definitely find somewhere for it!
So there you have it! My first Wishlist Wednesday! Also let me know what you think of the post title banners, I'm not entirely sure of them yet.

My Week in Twitpics #1

Sunday, 31 March 2013

As you may or may not know I have a Blackberry, this means that to upload photos to Instagram, I have to mess about a fair bit. I have to take the picture on the Blackberry, Email it to myself. THEN access that email on my tablet, download the photo, upload it to my Instagram, pick the filter and post. So I have decided that until such a time as I have a phone that I can get Instagram on, I will just post pictures straight from my phone to Twitter. I am looking into apps that will give me cool filter effects and there will be a post on them shortly. As such I am introducing a new feature, 'My Week in Twitpics', which is basically the same as 'My Week on Instagram'. With that long introduction out of the way let's get started!

  1. Camel Balls Bubblegum! my friend Ellie found these in our local Supermarket. They are a liquid filled sour chewing gum. I think the packaging is completely halarious!
  2. Toy Tardis! This was actually a birthday present from my mum that failed to arrive before my birthday, so I arrived home on Wednesday to find this waiting for me in my room! It makes noises when you move it around, and the doors open! (So Awesome)
  3. Creepy Statues! These statues were in the restaurant that me and mum went to for lunch. They really freaked me out. In fact as I was taking this picture one of the arms was swaying as if it wanted to grab me! Scary stuff...
  4. Haircut! This was taken about an hour after I had my haircut! I now have a fringe, AND LAYERS!
  5. Celebrity Juice Easter Egg! I found this in Tesco and couldn't resist it, I also bought one for my brother and one for my sister. OOOOOOOOOOOSH!
  6. Strawberry Iced Lemonade! Despite it being freezing outside when mum and I went to Costa I couldn't pass up trying this. I was not disappointed, it was very refreshing! Perfect for summer (When it finally comes around)
  7. Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection! I was super naughty and bought the Fruit Pastel Collection when I saw it in Boots. I just couldn't help myself. I wrote a post on them here if you want to check that out!
  8. I'm an Owl! I found this cute little owl mask in Claire's accessories and couldn't resist snapping a quick pic!
  9. The Best thing about being home! I awoke this morning to the sound of bacon sizzling, and I came down expecting a bacon sarnie, but I was greeted by a Full English! Happy Days...
I hope you've enjoyed my first photo roundup! Let me know in the comments if you want to see more like this!
