The Fat Fight: Origin

Friday 3 May 2013

The little monsters are supposed to represent the fat I want to shift, that and they are really cute!

I have been trying to lose weight for a LONG time. The most I have managed to shift is 5Ibs, and then I put a little bit of that back on. I think one of the main reasons that I fail at weight loss is because I lie to myself. I tell myself things like:
'I'm not really eating that much'

OR

'Eating an entire tub of Ben and Jerry's isn't THAT bad'

That is my problem, I always rationalise my unhealthy lifestyle, and then I get upset when I look at myself in the mirror and I don't look the way I want to. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my body shape, I have always loved being a curvy girl, but I want to be a HEALTHY curvy girl. When I came to university I weighed 11st 7Ibs. So I wasn't exactly thin back then, but I was really happy with my weight. I acknowledged that I had a bit of a belly, and that my bum was rather big, but I was confident. Since my break up with my ex-fiance, I have gone from that to 13st 13Ibs. So pretty much 14st. I want to be the weight I was before coming to University and the only way I am going to do that is by being honest with myself! So I'm going to be doing monthly posts saying how my month has gone, and being HONEST about how much weight I have lost or put on. I got this idea from the wonderful Kirsty from Indigo Buttons so be sure to pop over to her blog!

Weight: 13st 13Ibs
Size: 16/18
Chest: 40"
Waist: 34"
Hips: 47"
Tummy: 41"
Thigh: 26"
Bicep: 14"

Goal this month: Lose 2Ibs

I know my first goal might seem a little insignificant, but for me any step in the right direction is a good one! If you saw my Slimpod post the other day then you will know that I am trailing a method of subconscious persuasion, I will still be doing this and seeing how it helps me on my weight loss journey. The biggest part of this for me is being honest about how much I weigh and my size, because I ALWAYS lie about it, and if I can't lie, then I can't hide. My Slimpod posts will be weekly, and these Fat Fight posts will be monthly.

I'd love to hear from anyone else struggling with their weight, wanting to be part of a support group for each other! Email me at: alyssiaroseslade@gmail.com if you want some support!

  1. Woohoo!! Congrats for being so brave :-) let's support each other! I felt kinda nervous posting my weight the first time, but I felt worse admitting I hadn't lost anything at the end of the month too! Making it public genuinely helps. Good luck lovey! We can do it!xxx
