Over a month ago I was invited along to go to an event at an Urban Decay counter in The Oracle, Reading, which you can read about
here. On the night we were very lucky to receive a goody bag from the team at Urban Decay, which was not only very surprising, but also greatly appreciated. Urban Decay is a brand that I have always been interested in, however until very recently I had never actually owned any products from them. You will have seen me mention before that I have started collecting their eyeshadow palettes since Christmas, but until the event I hadn't really ever used any of their other products. Since the event I have been obsessed with growing my UD collection, and this goodie bag certainly really helped...
I'm also going to be totally everything up as we go along, more for sheer curiosity than anything else, so let's get started!

Little Perversions Gift Set |
The first thing that caught my eye was a gift set called 'Little Perversions'. Opening the box I saw that the items came in a little black pouch, wrapped in purple tissue paper. The gift set includes: Perversion Mascara, Subversion Lash Primer, 24/7 Glide-on in Perversion, Perversion All-nighter eyeliner, and Perversion Ink for eyes. This little set contains everything you need to give yourself a really basic eye look with just eyeliner and mascara, a look that I actually wore a lot when I was a teen. Looking on the website I can see that this retails for £30, which considering you get five mini products seems like a very good price.
|
Little Perversions Eyeliners |
I'm a big fan of classic black eyeliners, and they are pretty much the only colour I own. Both the 24/7 Glide-on and the All-nighter eyeliner are very creamy and could be used for both the lash line and the water line. They both seem like they would smoke out really well too, meaning you could get that awesome smokey liner look that is very popular at the moment. Then there is the Ink for eyes, which I could see becoming my favourite liquid eyeliner. It is a felt pen kind of liquid liner and the point is so fine that I can see it being great for creating all sorts of eyeliner looks.
|
Subversion Lash Primer |
I've never used a lash primer so this certainly intrigues me. Having had a quick look on the website, it seems as though this primer is supposed to give your mascara something to grab onto, which should make your lashes look longer and thicker, and also feel stronger. This also has vitamin E in it so in theory should be good for your lashes. The jury is still out on this one, I will have to give it a try!
|
Perversion Mascara |
The Perversion mascara is one of Urban Decay's best sellers, with that in mind I am really excited to try this mascara. My lashes suck, they don't hold curl, and they always look really flat. I'm hoping that this mascara might just save me. The website claims that the formula for this mascara is neither too wet nor too dry, and I am always looking for the perfect in the middle mascara. My question is, will this be my new Holy Grail mascara?
So there is everything that comes in the Little Perversions gift set, I'd hands down say it's worth £30, so go and check it out on the website
here.

24/7 Glide-on Pencils in Desperation and Deep End |

24/7 Glide-on Pencils in Desperation and Deep End |
The next item that caught my eye were the 24/7 Glide-on eyeliner pencils. I have heard a lot of good things about these eyeliners and read countless blog posts on them, and yet for some reason have never had one in my possession. Here I am lucky enough to be given TWO of these beauties in a goodie bag. Deep End is a gorgeous blue/teal colour which of course is one of my favourites. I'm going to have to somehow work this colour into an every day look because I love it so much! Then we have desperation which is what I would call a gunmetal grey, and yet in the above photo it almost looks black. This is a nice colour to mix things up if like me you are someone who always wears black eyeliner. As with the mini liner from the gift set, these glide so beautifully and are really creamy. The pigmentation on these is absolutely insane and is easily the best I have ever seen from coloured liners. These retail at £15.50 each, but considering how large they are and how long they would last you I hardly think this is a bad price.

Eyeshadow in Bust |
|
Swatch of the UD eyeshadow in Bust |
Another eye product that we received was an individual eyeshadow. Now I will admit that I am not normally one to buy individual shadows, I much prefer buying a palette which has several options for me. However for me this shade was love at first swatch. Plus who wouldn't fall in love with the packaging for the individuals, it's so shiny! This colour is called Bust and is a brown/grey shimmer colour which I can see myself wearing all over the lid or even through the crease. The pigmentation on this shadow is ridiculous, this swatch was done with one dip! These eyeshadows are priced at £14 and come in tonnes of different shades, and the reviews for these on the
website speak for themselves.

Afterglow 8-hour Blush in Kinky |
|
Swatch of Afterglow 8-hour Blush in Kinky |
If there's one thing that I probably neglect in my makeup collection it's blusher. I have probably a grand total of 5 blushes and 1 blush palette, which in comparison to my 20+ eyeshadow palettes is pretty pathetic. What's more all of the blushes I own are pink toned, which is why this one is such a godsend. I'll admit when I first saw kinky I was a little taken aback, it's not a shade I would normally go for. It's an orangey coral shade with a golden shimmer to it, literally the polar opposite to anything I already have. Despite this I think this will be the perfect shade for summer, and I can't wait to give it a go and see how it turns out! The After-glow blushes come up at £19, which when you consider the pigmentation and size of the blush is really decent.

Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Streak |
|
Swatch of Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Streak |
Not only did we receive an item that I don't normally collect, but we also got an item for a collection I am recently very keen on building. Lipsticks are something that I have recently become very interested in, normally I go for more matte shades, however this lipstick is a Sheer. I received the Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Streak, which is a sort of Strawberry Shade. I haven't had a chance to try this colour on my lips yet, but I imagine it will be a great everyday colour. These cost £15.50 on the website, so the same price as a MAC lipstick. I personally am not a fan of MAC, so I'd happily buy the Urban Decay lipsticks instead!
The final item that I received but is not pictured because I seem to have misplaced it, is a Brow Beater eyebrow pencil, and is absolutely my new favourite item in my makeup bag. It fills and defines my brows so easily, and I can go for either a natural look, or the full on 'fleeked' brow. Priced at £15, this is an item I can see myself repurchasing when it runs out.
All in all I am super grateful for everything I received in my goodie bag, it's been a great introduction for me to other Urban Decay products, and it's left me wanting more.
**Disclaimer: I received a goodie bag of products for free from Urban Decay whilst attending their Valentines event. All opinions and first impressions above are my own, and are not affected by the fact that I was given these items for free**
